Welcome to the Utah Avalanche Club!

We would like to welcome you to our club and take a minute to answer a few questions you may have. We are the Utah Chapter of the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club of North America.

What is required to join the club?

Just a love of the Chevy Avalanche! There are no dues or fees of any kind. As a new member you will want to visit the Utah Chapter Discussion Forum located at the CAFCNA website and take a minute to introduce yourself.

Where can I find out more about Utah Avalanche Club events?

Take a look at our Club Event Calendar and the Utah Chapter Discussion Forum. All of our events will be listed there. You can find the latest information and details at the discussion forum. Also be sure that you join our E-mail list. You can find more information about that here.

The next event sounds fun! Can I bring my family along?

Absolutely! The Utah Avalanche Club is a family friendly environment. All of our activities are planned with families in mind. You will never need to worry about a Get Together being held in an inappropriate environment. All we ask is that you keep a close eye on your kids to keep them safe and to protect the investment in time and money that most members have put into their Avalanches.

I keep seeing "GTG" referred to in the Discussion Forum, what does that mean?

GTG is short hand for Get Together. A Get Together is what we call our chapter events. Sometimes a GTG will be a "Cruise". Cruises are when we meet at a predetermined location and then all cruise together as a group to another location.

What are "Amber DRL's"?

"DRL's" are Daytime Running Lights. They are the lights on the front of your Avalanche that stay on during daylight. Our club signature is to change the color of these bulbs from white to amber. This allows us to identify other members on the road. The amber lights also look very sharp when we are all in a group during a cruise. Ask us about them at a GTG and we will help you install them on your AV.

What is a "Mod"?

"Mod" is short for modification. Most members of our club have been bitten by the Mod bug. There are thousands of Mods available for the Avalanche. It is fun and very addictive making modifications to your Avalanche, making it truly your own. Several times a year we will hold Modding GTG's where we meet and Mod our AV's as a group. Modding GTG's are a great place to do your mods as other members can assist you. You can almost always find a member that has experience with the Mod you would like to do. Come to one of our GTG's and look at the other members Avalanches to find potential Mods you would like to do to your AV.

I hope this answers most of the questions you may have about the Utah Avalanche Club. We hope to see you at an upcoming GTG soon!
